Is This Living Room Big Enough for My TV?

Is This Living Room Big Enough for My TV?
There was a 25-inch model, but having a TV that big seemed vulgar. When I would ask my father why he didn't splash out for the bigger set, he would say, “Who am I, George Lucas?” It seems almost quaint now. These days you would be hard-pressed to even …

I myself went all out and bought monster cables. I spend $ 6,000.00 on a system and and extra $ 200.00 seemed worth it. And I did see a difference from my son’s cheap pair to my set. People will say buy cheap but they must need glasses or not a very good TV.

How much would it cost to repair a 42 in 1080p LCD tv?

Question by ArmyWife: How much would it cost to repair a 42 in 1080p LCD tv?
A friend of mine gave me a TV and I want to get it fixed. It turned on but then immediately turned off. There is power running through it but now it just wont turn on. We replaced a fuse in it and my husband said it blew the fuse. So, I am going to take it to get fixed I just need to know an estimate of how much it will cost. Any info would help. Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Frank
Really depends on where you are and who you talk to … if it’s just a blown fuse than the most expensive bill may be time / labor. I would guestimate something in the neighborhood of $ 60 USD ??? ask around – mention you’ve repaired it once before but your husband is deployed – hopefully get a sympathetic ear and inexpensive estimate.

BTW, if it is a repeat issue than the problem may be a faulty power supply, that would cost more in Time / Material / Labor but yield long lasting results.

Good luck

Would a 720p LED TV have a better picture than a 1080p LCD TV?

Question by y2kbug77: Would a 720p LED TV have a better picture than a 1080p LCD TV?
I’m looking to get a TV for college and I’m going for either a 26 or 32 inch. I know there are alot of new technologies in LED TVs and I was wondering if these technologies would give the LED an advantage over an LCD TV that is 1080p compared to the LEDs lower resolution of 720p.

Best answer:

Answer by Louis
any tv smaller than 42″ you can’t tell the difference between 720 and 1080. So get the LED because of the better technology behind it. (Low energy, deeper blacks, higher visual quality)

What cables and cords do I need to buy for a 42″ Phillips 1080p LCD TV?

Question by Just Asking: What cables and cords do I need to buy for a 42″ Phillips 1080p LCD TV?
I just purchased a 42″ Phillips 1080p LCD TV and heard there are a lot of expensive cords I need to buy to make it work at its best, but I don’t know how many or which ones. All I’ll be hooking up to it is a DVD player. Any suggestions?

Best answer:

Answer by Texperson
If all you are attaching to the tv is a dvd player, the type of cable will depend on what type of outputs the dvd player has. Component (red/green/blue) will be the highest you can use with a regular dvd player. They aren’t expensive anywhere, but www. monoprice.com has the best prices on good quality cables, about $ 5.00 each and that’s all you need. Any cables can be bought from them that you may need, don’t spend a bunch of money on hype brands.
