Samsung has the best sales in plasma LCD LED t.v.s
Samsung has the best picture quality
Samsung has the best color
Samsung has the best Audio (Sony has the best surround sound)
Samsung has the HD
Samsung is the clearest
2 inches is not going to make a difference compared to all of this

Between 2 choice I would go with Samsung,better quality brand.I think it great even 60Hz.

If you are worry about motion blur, plasma hdtv would be a better choice for you.600Hz Sub-field Drive provide smoother motion.Panasonic or Samsung are good brand to get.

I’m guessing your budget is in around $ 800-$ 1,000? With that you could find other solutions that would be extremely excellent TV options for you.

Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P42G10 42-Inch 1080p Plasma is $ 813 on Amazon.com right now. That is quite possibly the strongest 42″ TV of any variety you can own. It would be an amazing buy.

LG 42LH40 42-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV is $ 800 on Amazon.com right now. LG is maybe just the slightest of notches down from Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic, but its darn near close. So this is a very capable option from LG in around your size range at least.

There’s also the Sharp LC40E77U 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD for $ 830 on Amazon.com. Another very strong manufacturer. Infact Sony buys its panels from Sharp now (since 2008 actually). Sony just adds on its own image processors and such itself.

Not to say the Samsung or Philips you’ve picked out won’t also look really good. But, just guessing on your budget, I think there are at least some other really viable options out there for you. Some of which could satisfy both your “brand” and “specs” demands in one set.

If you were really set on those 2 models you already picked out, then to really make the decision, you need to go and look at them in a store. Ask the sales people to put on some fast motion material. See if you can view any motion blur problems on the Samsung. If you don’t see it, then its either not there or you’re not sensitive to it (some people just aren’t). Then that might well be the perfect choice for you. If it is breaking down on you though, then perhaps you need to lean on the Philips or another alternative.

Panasonic and Samsung are the best brand for quality and reliability. Also keep in mind that you can not see the difference between 720P and 1080P in screen smaller than a 46″. The only source for 1080P is the blu ray disc movies and some PS3 video games. Also, all LCD or LED tv have problems with blur motion when they are a 60HZ refresh rate when watching fast action sports or playing video games. To reduce the blur motion you need the faster refresh rate of the 120HZ. Hope this will help you out.

every 16 inches or so you have a 2×4 stud standing vertically in the wall. fasten a 3×4 in plywood square a little less than your t. v. size and that will allow you to fasten your hanger system to the plywood. Be sure to get about # 10 screws and put about 6 in the sheet. 2 and a half in should do it. You may want to predrill with a smaller bit first, they will go in much easier. coat them with a bar of soap and this will also help putting them in. good luck.
