Question by James: Does anyone have a Toshiba 40RV525U 40-inch LCD HDTV?
Or something like it?? I’ve been looking at this one and the price is cool and the quality seems good. I had an old Toshiba TV years ago and it’s still reliable and running good! Any pros or cons? Is it a good buy?

Best answer:

Answer by TV Tech 1
Weeeellllll….at least it’s NOT their DLP TV set…

I have found that 3-4 year old DLPs from them aren’t supported anymore by the company, and they have another company actually refurbish their boards.

And the refurbisher really really Sucks!

I just had to send a Light Engine back to them because they MISSED SOMETHING in the rebuild.

And it’s happened MORE than once…

I won’t buy it, I’ll stick with Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic…they don’t do that.

Question by richard: Would you choose a 40′ Samsung 60 hz LCD or a 42′ Philips 120 hz lcd?
I’m confused on which to buy. I don’t know if I should go with the better brand with not as good specs or a not as popular brand with better specs. The reason being is I heard that LCD TV’s can be blurry when watching sports but the 120hz is supposed to fix it but I didn’t know if a samsung with 60hz would be more clear or not. Thanks in advance

Best answer:

Answer by RICH
I would go for the Samsung 60 hz. I looked into the 60 and 120 cycle sets…and could see little to no difference at a viewing distance. In fact, I thought it made DVD movies look WORSE in 120 cycle mode. Save the money and go with Samsung. The 120 does not fix the inherent ‘blurr’ of LCD..Plasma will fix any blurr problems, as it has a very fast response time.

Question by Nigel_123: Is there anyway i can hang my 40″ tv on old crumbly walls?
Just tried to hang my new tv on the wall but the walls are far to crumbly to get a good fix. The walls are very old plaster on brick with lime mortar i think. Just wondered if anyone has had similar trouble and what i could do about it as i really want to put it on the wall if possible.
Thanks in advance!!
I dont think there are any studs its just plaster straight onto bricki think?!

Best answer:

Answer by H. K
yes bolt it to the studs or fix the wall

Best answer:

Answer by syco noodles
you wont get a good hd tv for that price, save a little bit longer till you have £400 when you can get a panasonic 42in tv with freeview HD built in

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX-P42C3B-42-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/B004L2KTMW/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1327250269&sr=1-4

or you could get this Lucky Goldstar lg 3d plasma tv for £400 but with lg they are NOT that great

Question by Danny: My 42′ LCD HD Ready 1080p TV has started flickering, but only the bottom 1/4, how can I fix it?
I have a 2 year old TV, details above, and the bottom third of the screen has begun flickering, I also noticed that the flickering part of the screen is alot cooler compared to the rest.. Do you know how I can fix it? Or how much it’ll cost to be fixed? Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Jeffrey S
You are experiencing the death of tv.

Save up for a new one – they usually cost more to repair than to buy.

(presumably it is the same on tv as well as dvd or satellite broadcast).
