Question by ArmyWife: How much would it cost to repair a 42 in 1080p LCD tv?
A friend of mine gave me a TV and I want to get it fixed. It turned on but then immediately turned off. There is power running through it but now it just wont turn on. We replaced a fuse in it and my husband said it blew the fuse. So, I am going to take it to get fixed I just need to know an estimate of how much it will cost. Any info would help. Thanks!

Really depends on where you are and who you talk to … if it’s just a blown fuse than the most expensive bill may be time / labor. I would guestimate something in the neighborhood of $ 60 USD ??? ask around – mention you’ve repaired it once before but your husband is deployed – hopefully get a sympathetic ear and inexpensive estimate.

BTW, if it is a repeat issue than the problem may be a faulty power supply, that would cost more in Time / Material / Labor but yield long lasting results.

The first warehouse already has 150 TVs on hand, whereas the second has 50 TVs on hand. It costs $ 8 to ship a TV to the first warehouse, and it costs $ 16 to ship a TV to the second warehouse. How many TVs should be shipped to each warehouse to minimize the cost?

Ship as many as you can to the first warehouse. Ship the rest to the second warehouse.
The first warehouse can take in 750 – 150 = 600 more tvs. Therefore, ship 400 to the second warehouse. The cost is
600(8) + 400(16) = 4800 + 6400 = $ 11200

My brother did this-he has the device that hides the cables. It looks like a long bar-it’s pretty neat. It cost him about $ 100 for the bar and the work (he had Sony guys do it) cost about $ 300. This was 1 year ago. He’s now learned to do it himself and he did it with another TV for about $ 100 total.
