She contacted me after getting the runaround on a repair to her television that lasted much longer than expected. Elizabeth bought the TV back in April 2009, along with a $ 500 extended warranty. In December she realized something was wrong with her TV.

A friend of mine gave me a TV and I want to get it fixed. It turned on but then immediately turned off. There is power running through it but now it just wont turn on. We replaced a fuse in it and my husband said it blew the fuse. So, I am going to take it to get fixed I just need to know an estimate of how much it will cost. Any info would help. Thanks!

Really depends on where you are and who you talk to … if it’s just a blown fuse than the most expensive bill may be time / labor. I would guestimate something in the neighborhood of $ 60 USD ??? ask around – mention you’ve repaired it once before but your husband is deployed – hopefully get a sympathetic ear and inexpensive estimate.

BTW, if it is a repeat issue than the problem may be a faulty power supply, that would cost more in Time / Material / Labor but yield long lasting results.

My little brother and sister were playing catch in my room i don’t even know why! They are not even suppose to go in there but like i was saying how much would it be? I dont have any money with this economical crisis. The Tv has a black roundish-square tint and has green, yellow, red, purple, blue lines going vertically in other words going up.
Please help me

I called to make a claim on my tv warranty 3-15-09, the repair man came a week or two later.. said he had to order parts. It’s now July.. and nothing has happened and they keep giving me the run around about paper work and that they have informed the repair man. 4 months is too long. Could I simply find somebody myself and give REX the bill?

You can let the repair place know you would like to get the parts from another reputable dealer. For our TV repair parts we go to Discount Merchant Electronics in southern California. What you would do is find out what’s wrong with it and order the parts yourself and give it to REX. If they don’t do that, then I’d probably take em to court.
