I’m confused on which to buy. I don’t know if I should go with the better brand with not as good specs or a not as popular brand with better specs. The reason being is I heard that LCD TV’s can be blurry when watching sports but the 120hz is supposed to fix it but I didn’t know if a samsung with 60hz would be more clear or not. Thanks in advance

I would go for the Samsung 60 hz. I looked into the 60 and 120 cycle sets…and could see little to no difference at a viewing distance. In fact, I thought it made DVD movies look WORSE in 120 cycle mode. Save the money and go with Samsung. The 120 does not fix the inherent ‘blurr’ of LCD..Plasma will fix any blurr problems, as it has a very fast response time.

I have the wee pc port on back of the tv and tried putting the cable into it instead of the monitor. but when I put the tv on I can’t find the right channel.
Anyone help?
I have the VGA thingy. But when I connect them up I couldn’t get the picture?
Should it just auto appear when i turn it on yeh? Or is there a specific channel?

I have connect my Pc to my LG 47″LCD HD TV using an rgb cable. It looks like a rhhombus with 15 holes. You can find it here…http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380030348750. The picture is great in quality. When you connect it you must turn off your computer then try it. If you also want Audio connect this cable here http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290231338894 to the speaker port on your pc then to the one on your tv if it has one. I have done it like that and it works perfectly. Good Luck!

Get a copy of the Digital Video Essentials setup DVD. The BluRay version is only $ 18.

It has step-by-step tutorials and test patterns to adjust the user settings.

Full calibration would involve getting into the service menu and adjusting things that could damage the set so I cannot help you with those. But the user-settings with a setup disk can do a lot.

If your PS3 is already set up in HD then you have nothing to do it is already in HD. Because all content will be in HD since your resolution on the console is set at 480p,720p,1080i or 1080p

I followed instructions on connections including HDMI cable and component cable which came with Blu Ray. When I attempt to log onto Netflix, get message that I am not ‘connected.” How do I fix this problem??? My Comcast is HD and DVR console. Thanks!

I may be wrong but Netflix is a web based service. the connection problem you encounter is may be due to a internet connection faillure, not cable connection (hdmi or whatever).
have a look on your manual and dig up information about internet connection.

I checked on the Samsung website but I don’t think they show all models because I can find certain models in shops but not on the Samsung website. =(

On Samsung’s site, they list all the models for this year, the B series. In some stores they may still have last year’s models, the A series. They could also have returns and refurbs which are even older. And during the year, sometimes the manufacturer’s discontinue a certain tv, so they remove it from their site, but the stores still sell it.

And Walmart, Costco, etc. often have slightly different model numbers with some missing features from the main model numbers on the web site for various reasons. All you can do is look at the features and buy what meets your needs.

So that’s where you may find a difference.

I have a 40 inch Samsung LED LCD Tv (barely used, bought in april 2011) that goes for about $ 800 on Amazon.

What would a pawn shop likely offer for it? $ 200? $ 400? Less? D: I would hope for half (400) but, I have no idea!

I am in the Seattle area, if that matters. Pawn shops everywhere..

My friend put a large crack on my 40 inch lcd tv, it cost 800 and the home insurance is covering a replacement. I have to pay 250 pounds excess, well my friend does.
I am allowed to keep the old 1 but is it worth while getting it repaired? I was told it would be around 350 to get it repaired but is there anyway I could get it fixed on the cheap? Or could the parts be sold as it is only the screen damaged?

If it is a 40″ set, I assume it is a projection type and the screen is broken. Only way to be done cheaper is to get the screen assembly yourself and replace it on your own. That can be tricky though. If it is just the screen I would have it repaired if I couldn’t afford the exceess money. The electronics probably are ok, IF IT IS a cracked screen.
