You didn’t mention if this is happening while watching an off-air/cable channel with the tuner or through a video input from a dvd, cable box, or satellite box. If it’s from an input, check all your connections and if necessary, try another dvd, cable box, or sat box to determine the problem. If’ it’s while watching an off-air channel/cable channel with the tuner, call a service company, the TV needs repair.

Nothing to worry about, the response speed is a fix for the lcd tv. It’s supposed to stop the blurring when playing fast games. Most people don’t even notice

Q&A: Why does my Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV have problems changing channels?

Question by dac: Why does my Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV have problems changing channels?
Every time I change the channel the picture will flash up, disappear, the tv will say it’s searching for signal, then pop the picture up again.

I have cable service and an HDMI cable hooked up to the tv.

Answer by kg7or
You apparently have a cable receiver or DVR connected to your set via an HDMI cable. That being the case, channel selection is accomplished in your receiver or DVR with your cable remote. Nothing changes in your TV when you change channels. Your problem then, whatever it is, lies with your cable receiver/DVR rather than in your TV.

Not knowing your model……this might be a quick fix.
My Samsung has a “E.MODE” button on the remote. If yours has one, press it till “Game Mode” comes up. If that doesn’t work, go to Samsung’s website & download the user manual for your model.

Good Luck!

The Phillips has a sharper picture. The TV screen is made up of color dots, called Pixels. The Phillips has 1,080 color dots in a one-inch square. The Samsung has only 720 color dots per one-inch square.

The “p” after 720 & 1080, as well as 480, means “progressive” scan. There was “i”, which meant “Interlaced” scanning. Old TV’s used Interlace scanning.

Is it worth $30 to upgrade a component cable to hdmi cable with my ps3 and 40″ 1080p samsung lcd flat screen?

Question by Tony M: Is it worth to upgrade a component cable to hdmi cable with my ps3 and 40″ 1080p samsung lcd flat screen?
Is there a noticeable difference between those cables? Is the difference worth spending $ 30 plus tax? Thanks

Best answer:

Answer by gachzorge
um yes, it’s an enormous difference, it isn’t even in HD with the component cable, it’s only in 480i, which is less than half the resolution your TV supports. I went from component to HDMI and noticed it right away, and when I went back to component it looks like crap, it made on game unplayable because the graphics were so horrible in standard def.
